The Inside Story: What Makes Them Work
Inside, it’s all about smart materials. The heart of it is the carbon fiber element, sealed inside a quartz tube and surrounded by a halogen gas. That halogen gas does some pretty cool work. Plus, many of these lamps have a reflective coating on the back half. Think of it like a tiny mirror. When it comes to hooking it up, we use R7s and SK15 connectors. The R7s is your go-to. It’s a simple, double-ended plug that makes these lamps a direct replacement for what’s already in most heaters. It handles the high current, locks in place reliably, and makes assembly on the line a breeze. The SK15 is for those tight spots where you need a secure, keyed connection that won’t slip.
