A Carbon Fiber Infrared Heating Lamp, Built for the Real World
We built this carbon fiber infrared heating lamp for engineers who just need heat they can count on—again and again. High-density heat, in a small footprint. It’s a shortwave infrared emitter, with a carbon filament tucked inside a quartz envelope, designed to drop straight into industrial heating cells and process machines.
Power, voltage, and size—kept practical
This lamp runs at 2500W and 400V. That voltage isn’t random—it keeps the current lower over longer runs, which cuts down on voltage drop and helps keep conductors and terminals from running too hot. The tube is 300mm long, which focuses the radiant output into a tight zone. So you get high watt density without needing a bigger housing. It heats up fast and responds fast. Just be ready for it—this kind of output needs a control that’s properly rated, the right fusing, and enough ventilation in the machine enclosure.
Materials and design—because details matter
Inside, the carbon filament works with a halogen gas fill. That combo helps keep output stable over the life of the lamp and fights filament degradation when things get seriously hot. The quartz tube is chosen for clean shortwave infrared transmission—so more of the energy hits the target, and less is wasted as convective heat. And the R7s connector? It’s a straightforward, industry-standard fit that handles the quartz tube’s thermal expansion. It gives you a secure, repeatable installation that can take the heat cycling of a production line without loosening up or arcing.
Where it shines—and what to keep in mind
Use this lamp wherever you need focused radiant heat: PET blowing preheat zones, plastic welding, adhesive curing, coating drying. The carbon filament delivers consistent infrared emission along the tube, which helps even out temperature profiles on moving webs or mold surfaces. The 300mm size makes retrofits easier and keeps the machine footprint small. But here’s the trade-off: that high power density means your cooling and shielding have to match the lamp. Plan your heat shielding and airflow up front, and it will run reliably—shift after shift.
