Let’s talk about the 560mm 1500W Carbon Fiber Heater

Most heaters just sear the surface of whatever they’re hitting. We wanted something different. We built this 560mm lamp for the jobs where you need the heat to actually sink in deep, rather than just scorching the top layer. The secret is the carbon fiber filament. By ditching the old-school tungsten or halogen wires, we’ve shifted the heat into the far-infrared range.

Getting the heat right

We went with 1500W spread across 560mm for a reason. It stops those annoying hotspots you get with shorter, high-wattage tubes. Instead, you get a steady, even glow across the whole zone. It fits perfectly into medium-sized drying tunnels or curing ovens. Just a heads-up: these are spec’d for 220V-240V. Make sure your wiring is up to the task so you don’t run into voltage drops at the terminals.

Why carbon fiber?

Metal coils tend to burn out. They hate being turned on and off constantly. Carbon fiber is different. It handles the expansion and contraction of heating up and cooling down without snapping. And because it’s far-infrared, it doesn’t just bake the “skin” of your material. It warms the core. It’s a much more thorough kind of heat.

Making it work in your shop

If you’ve got standard industrial racks, these should slide right in. They’re a great swap for old quartz heaters, though the way they warm up feels a bit different. They hit their operating temperature fast, but you won’t get that blinding, intense light you see with short-wave lamps. But here’s the thing: there’s always a trade-off. Far-infrared is a dream for thick materials, but it’s not the best choice for flash-drying thin films. If you’re running a high-speed line with super thin substrates, the heat transfer might feel a bit too slow for you. One last tip: use polished aluminum reflectors. It helps push that radiation forward and makes the most of every watt.
