We built these heating tubes to do one thing really well: push heat deep into whatever you’re working on using far-infrared (FIR) radiation. Most people are used to standard quartz heaters with those resistive coils. These are different. We swapped the coils for carbon fiber filaments. It sounds like a small tweak, but it completely changes how the heat actually hits your material. The secret is in the soak. At 2000W, you’ve got a lot of power moving through the tube. But here’s the cool part: carbon fiber doesn’t need to get screaming hot on the surface to work. Instead, it sends out energy that sinks deep into the material. You won’t just scorch the top layer. You get a steady, uniform heat that penetrates the core. It’s the difference between a quick sear and a deep, thorough warm. Why carbon fiber and quartz? Inside the tube, there’s a carbon fiber weave wrapped in high-purity quartz. We went this route because carbon fiber is tough. It doesn’t warp or snap when you’re cranking the heat up and down all day. The quartz glass is just there to keep the filament from oxidizing and to make sure those FIR waves fly right through without getting trapped in the glass. A few things to keep in mind You can hook these up to most industrial controllers, but just make sure your power supply can handle a 2000W draw. One heads-up: these aren’t “instant-on” like those shortwave lamps. There’s a tiny bit of a lag while they ramp up. If you’re doing something that needs millisecond precision, these might not be your first choice. But for curing, drying, or heating a space? The way the energy penetrates is just better. One last tip… Keep the tubes clean. Seriously. If dust or oil builds up on the quartz, you’ll get hot spots. Those spots put stress on the glass and the filament, which is a fast track to a cracked tube or a burnt-out element. Keep them spotless, and they’ll last you a long time.
